In 1933, Lucille F. Styles opened Charleston Florist with $300, the help of a single employee and a lot of determination. Using flowers that were grown by her Husband, Homer Styles, owner of Palmetto Floral Nursery, Lucille created and designed floral arrangements for every occasion. She made deliveries using her own car on which she hung removable signs and built up her business until she was the most popular florist in Charleston.

To this day, Charleston Florist still holds that distinction, even though the number of florists has "blossomed" from 3 to 65 in the last 75 years. It is our policy to provide a personal touch and a friendly atmosphere, which is exactly what you will find when you cross through the doors at our location in the heart of the downtown shopping district at 184 King Street.

Now employing at least fourteen designers and 4 delivery drivers, Charleston Florist has grown into a well-respected Charleston institution. Our designers arrange and create artistic works with fresh flowers in an open environment that can be seen from the moment you walk in our doors.
Now in it's fourth generation of family ownership, Kelly Hunt, great-granddaughter of Lucille, continues the family tradition of the finest in floral arrangements and gifts. From first-time customers to long-standing accounts, Charleston Florist has built a reputation for providing our customers with outstanding service and the highest quality products available.
